What To Expect

That is a good question that may be hard to answer in a brief paragraph. If I were looking to attend a church service, I would want to ask the same thing.
FIRST, you can expect a friendly, warm welcome. We have parking lot greeters who can help direct you to where you want to go. If you have children birth to three, ask them about our preschool childcare. They will also be happy to explain to you the accommodations for three to five year olds. Don’t worry about sitting in someone’s seat or having to conform to anyone’s way of worship. If you need to know where the phone, restrooms, water fountains, or anything else, just ask one of our regular attendees.
SECONDLY, you can expect warm, inspirational Christian music. You will hear both the grand hymns of the church and some of the latest contemporary praise songs. Some people stand during the music, some sit, some raise their hands, and others clap to the music.
THIRDLY, the pastor preaches relevant, biblically-based messages. While we provide Bibles in the pews, you are encouraged to bring your own personal copy of Scripture. If you are not used to finding Bible passages, the page number of the main Scripture reading is in the bulletin and on the projection screen. The pastor provides an outline in the bulletin so that you can jot down some notes for future reference.
Another way to approach the above question is “What can I not expect if I come this Sunday?”
- We will not ask you to stand, raise your hand, or publicly identify yourself during the worship experience.
- In our Sunday School classes, we will not ask you to pray or read on your first visit unless you volunteer to do so.
- DON'T expect us NOT to want you to worship with us again. You are a welcome guest at Silver Springs and we want you to consider making our church your family of faith.
