Ministry Opportunities
Jail Ministry
Jesus calls us to take the Gospel to all people, including those who are incarcerated. Our Jail Ministry shares the hope and forgiveness found in Christ with men and women at the Wilson County Jail. Lives are changed through the Gospel, and faith-based ministry has consistently been shown to help reduce repeat offenses.
We serve on the first Monday evening of every month. Some volunteers meet at Silver Springs Baptist Church at 6:15 PM to ride together, while others meet at the jail. Ministry takes place from 7:00 to 8:00 PM.
Volunteers must be able to pass a background check and attend the annual training conducted by the Wilson County Sheriff's Office. If you have a heart for the Gospel, we'd love to have you join us!
LifeWise Academy
LifeWise Academy is a time-release and non-denominational Bible education program that allows public school students to receive Bible instruction during the school day, in accordance with state law. Silver Springs Baptist Church currently partners with the Elzie Patton Elementary program, serving students in 1st through 5th grade, and we would love to expand this ministry to more local schools.
We're looking for volunteers to serve as class aides, teachers, and bus drivers. All volunteers must pass a background check. Teaching and bus driving positions also offer opportunities for paid employment for those who need compensation while serving. If you have a heart for helping children learn God's Word, we'd love to help you become part of this growing ministry.

Worship Team
This group, made up of people who love to sing God’s praises, leads our church family weekly to do the same, and there are no auditions. If you have a passion to worship God in song, and you would love to encourage others to do the same, simply come to rehearsal on Sunday morning at 8:30 AM and ask for Brian!
Greeting Team
Our greeting team is one of the most important ministries at our church! It’s their goal to make sure that everyone who comes through the doors feels welcome, gets a visitor gift if it’s their first time with us, and gets connected to ministries that exercise their gifts to the good of the church body. If interested, come at 9:15 and ask for Eric!
Tech Team
This group is the foundation for our congregational praise time, as they run audio, project video, control lighting, etc. We do all the training, no prior experience required! This group arrives early every Sunday to rehearse with the band and choir. If interested, come to rehearsal at 8:30AM on Sunday and ask for Thomas!
Outreach Team
Our outreach team carries out home visits for the sick and for shut-ins and does door to door evangelism to promote events and share the Gospel with the community. If you’re a social person who loves talking about your faith, we’d love to have you. If interested, come at 9:15 and ask for Tommy!
